GUE BLS-D & Oxygen First Aid

€150.00

WHY TAKE THIS COURSE?
Whether you've never dived before, are a recreational diver, or an experienced technical diver – accidents can happen. Knowing how to support your dive teammates in an emergency is essential.

In cooperation with DAN Europe (Divers Alert Network), GUE offers a combination course that includes two programs:
Basic Life Support with Automated External Defibrillation (BLS-D) and Oxygen First Aid for Diving Emergencies.

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
Both divers and non-divers are welcome to participate in Basic Life Support training.
Although the course is specifically designed for divers, the skills taught can be applied in many everyday situations.

WHAT WILL I LEARN IN THIS COURSE?
The BLS-D course provides you with the knowledge and skills to perform basic life support (BLS) for adults and to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in the event of cardiac arrest.

BLS includes several first aid techniques that can sustain or restore life. By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • recognize an emergency situation,
  • activate emergency medical services (EMS),
  • and provide early BLS and AED support.

Early EMS activation and early BLS are two of the four critical links in the so-called chain of survival.

In the Oxygen First Aid course, you will learn how to safely administer oxygen as a first aid measure in the case of a suspected diving accident – in addition to learning the essential techniques and theoretical background.

Requirements for the GUE-DAN BLS-D & Oxygen First Aid Course:

  • Physically and mentally fit
  • Non-smoker

The course typically takes 1 day and includes both theoretical classroom instruction and hands-on practical training.
