The new MTX-R is based on the MTX, a regulator designed in accordance with the United States Navy Experimental Dive Unit Extreme cold water test.

Innovations in design mean that the MTX-R regulator can operate in near-freezing water at depths of over 60 metres, something few other regulators on the consumer market can boast.

The MTX-R 2nd stage has been deliberately designed without venturi levers and breathing resistance control in order to
